How can you safely and frugally clean your house? I’ll share how I’m cleaning my house for just $1.40 a month!
I’m frugal. But I’m also very picky when it comes to cleaning my home.
I don’t want to waste my money on products that don’t work very well. And I don’t want to buy any products that aren’t safe for my family – that’s tricky, especially when it comes to cleaning products.
I used to think that finding a safe, effective and affordable cleaner was a challenge.
- Coupons I clipped were for toxic products.
- Homemade cleaning products I created took a lot of time – and they never worked very well.
I remember one day of desperation, when I was so frustrated with how my homemade cleaners didn’t work – yet I didn’t know what affordable, safe products to buy. (For half a second, I considered just stopping cleaning my house, but figured that wasn’t a good long-term solution.)
My cleaning surprise
Shortly after my frustration, I was invited to a Norwex home party – I had no idea what Norwex was. But I went and learned that I could clean my home with a Norwex microfiber cloth and tap water.
I bought a Basic Package – a Norwex EnviroCloth and Window Cloth. With shipping and handling, the two cloths cost $40. At the time, I thought it was a lot of money for two cleaning cloths. Would I even use them?
Here’s the pleasant surprise – I’ve been cleaning my entire house with that EnviroCloth and Window Cloth for the past 28 months. I haven’t bought another cleaning product. In fact, I’ve thrown away my old cleaning products.
I’ve been surprised at how I can clean every hard surface in my home with the EnviroCloth – and how it’s the quickest, easiest and best cleaning I’ve done. I’ve also been surprised at how my windows can shine with water and the Window Cloth.
My cleaning is quicker than ever, it’s safe for my family, and considering that $40 investment now averages $1.40 a month, my frugal shopping itch has been scratched!
